A fire broke out after an oxygen cylinder exploded in the intensive care unit of a hospital in southern Turkey, killing nine people.
Hospital statement as saying that the dead were between 56 and 85 years old, while the fire was brought under control. The statement said 14 others were being treated in the intensive care unit. The patients were shifted to other hospitals, while the incident is under investigation.People were killed in the blaze, eight were reported by the hospital.
A statement from the governor's office said 19 patients were being treated at the unit when a high-pressure oxygen device exploded in the early hours of the morning, setting it on fire. No one was injured in the crash. According to official figures, the intensive care unit across Turkey is currently 74 percent full due to the Corona epidemic, but medical associations say the number is high and their hospitals have run out of space for Corona patients.
